Commonly Asked Questions
Is a hive visit required for prescriptions?
The requirement of a hive visit is determined on a case by case basis depending on findings during initial consultation with our veterinarian. Depending on the veterinarian's assessment prescriptions may require any of the following:
an initial consultation, hive visit, video/photo assessment of hives, or diagnostic testing. However, our goal is to ensure important prescriptions are available to beekeepers as soon as possible.
What types of payments are available?
At this time payments can be accepted in the form of: Mastercard, VISA, Interac/Debit and E-transfer. Payment plans are not currently offered.
Help! My bees died, can you tell me why?
Hive assessments, either in person or potentially photo/video assessments can help us to determine why your bees died. We would be happy to work with you to reduce future bee losses for preventable issues.
What biosecurity measures do you follow when performing hive visits?
We understand the necessity for biosecurity measures to reduce the risk of transferring bee diseases when traveling from hive to hive. We use clean beesuits, hive tools and boots for every beeyard and encourage beekeepers to do the majority of handling in the hives while we observe.
